Our signature, luxury matchbox brings a bit of glamour and style to the mantlepiece. As well as being beautiful on the outside they look pretty good inside too. Slide down the cover and open the inner tray to find 125 extra long match sticks (13cm!). As well as being extra long our matches have also been made thicker than others on the market to help guard again breakages, making them even safer to use.
There is a tradition of matchbox making in India & China and this design is a nod back to vintage matchbox labels of old, many of which depicted Tigers as well as other jungle animals and scenes. Tigers have always signified power, protection and beauty, couple this with their fabulous markings they have long inspried folklore as animals of fire which also inspired William Blakes poem”The Tyger”. Our quote ‘Burning Bright’ comes direct from Blakes pen which wonders at the tiger’s fiery, powerful, and terrifying beauty and the contrasting questions of creation that arise from it.
