João Neves (Nevesman) is a freelance graphic designer, illustrator, and music producer based in Lisbon, Portugal. With over a decade of experience, his work is rooted in a love for vintage typography and graphic design, often blending bold lettering and colours with nostalgic aesthetics.

Since starting his lettering journey, João has developed a distinct style that runs through branding, packaging, apparel, murals, and illustration. He has collaborated with clients like Disney, Vodafone, Hermès, Bud Light and his work has appeared in numerous publications worldwide.

João’s collaboration with the Matchbox Maker has been born out of his love for graphic precision and the personality of traditional matchbox design.
